Hippotherapy

Occupational therapy practitioners use a variety of sources and activities to engage people in meaningful and functional occupations.

Hippotherapy is a recognized evidence-based practice, and clinical reasoning, conducted only by occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech language pathologists, who purposefully manipulate the movement of the horse to provide opportunities for cognitive, sensory and neuromuscular development.

American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) recognizes Hippotherapy as an intervention treatment integrated in the client’s plan of care in order to achieve functional outcomes.

Our director is a member of the American Hippotherapy Association, and you can see her listed in the following website: http://www.americanhippotherapyassociation.org/find-a-therapist-2/
